it's our 12th anniversary!!

​November 10th marked our 12th year Anniversary!

On November 10th 2010, "The Adoption Option" Project was founded by Michael W. Blanchette of Methuen, Massachusetts. The community project was initially created to educate the community about "Foster Care Adoption", which not many people are familiar with. Michael and his wife have 5 children, two of which they fostered and later adopted. As a result, Michael has become a big advocate for foster care adoption!

Each state in the U.S.A. at any given time has hundreds of children and teens in state foster care, many of which are waiting to be adopted by a "forever home and family". Most if not every state offers a program where children and teens can be fostered, and later legally adopted if it is in the best interest of the child(ren) or teen(s). There are also sibling groups currently in state foster care as well. Most children and teens are in state foster care through no fault of their own, due to various reasons concerning the inability for the parent(s) to care for them. The child(ren) or Teen(s) are placed in foster care until the parent(s) are able to properly care for them, which is always the primary goal. Unfortunately the courts are forced to terminate parental rights, and the goal then becomes Adoption through foster care. The cost in most states to adopt a child through foster care is usually ZERO! The state usually works with the potential parent(s) with regard to training, certification, a background check, safety check of the home ect all for free, compared to Domestic and International Adoptions that can cost $20,000-$40,000 per child or teen. There are Pros and Cons to the different types of child adoption, so anyone interested should do their due diligence and research all and choose what best suits them. 

"The Adoption Option" Project has an official website, pages on most social media platforms, and has even produced some half-hour TV shows via Community Access Television! Some of the most popular shows can be viewed on the website world-wide! Since the project's inception, it has expanded it's mission to also educate the community about Child Foster Care, and Mentoring.

Since it's creation, "The Adoption Option" Project has been "not for profit". In other words, Michael has funded the project totally Out of His Own Pocket for 12 years! Anytime the Project has conducted/participated in a fundraiser, 100% of the money raised, went to the particular Non-Profit 503(c1) charity they were raising funds for. Michael says it is his way of giving back to the community... Michael also related that he could never of kept the project going all these years without the support of his family and other volunteers! 

Michael relates that he will continue with the project as long as possible. He says: "If I can help at least one child or teen find a forever home and family, it's been totally worth it!"
