While on duty, Off. Michael Blanchette responded to a call of a male subject unresponsive & not breathing. Upon arrival, the male was on the floor, was gasping, attempting to breath, was blue in color, & barely had a pulse. Off. Blanchette proceeded to administer rescue breathing for several minutes, which as a result brought color back to & stabilized the victim, until ambulance & paramedic crews arrived on scene. This is not the only award Off. Blanchette has earned during his law enforcement career. He was chosen "Police Officer of the Year" by the Methuen Police Dept. & the Methuen Exchange Club in 2010.
